Thank Heaven for Little Boys {Conrad}

My sweet, precious baby boy!

God knew I needed a little boy even when I thought it would be nice to have 2 little girls running around.

On this day one year ago, I was so in tune to my body that even though VERY early, I felt off, something wasn't right, so I bought a pregnancy test and was very pleased to see those 2 faint lines show up almost immediately. We had only decided it was a good time for baby #2 just two short weeks before...and we wouldn't tell family for another long 7 more weeks at Hanleys 2nd birthday party!!

Thank you Jesus for this little boy!!

Wagontrails Animal Park {The Summer Chronicles}

Our friend, Amanda, invited us to her birthday outing at Wagontrails Animal Park earlier this summer. Conrad was only just 5 weeks old and still a teeny little newborn. I wore him in my Solly Baby Wrap Carrier and made having 2 kids so easy! Hanley had so much fun feeding all the animals and I can't wait to take both kids back there when Conrad gets a little older so he can enjoy the animals also!

3 Months Old {Conrad}

Size
He's a pretty solid boy! Weighing roughly around 13 pounds. Wearing size 0-3 (a few random brands won't fit in that size anymore) and 3 months clothing. Currently wearing a size 2 diaper but they're still pretty roomy on him.

Eyes
His eyes are still a beautiful blue and his favorite thing/person to watch is Hanley! I think he takes her all in and one of these days soon he's just gonna go for it and shock us all!

Hair
He's still holding onto a small patch of brown hair in the back from birth but the rest is new, blonde, fuzz that is definitely growing!

Sleep
Takes all naps (like 3-5 a day) in his crib. If we are out, he either naps on someone or in his car seat. Still sleeps through the night with random wake ups here and there. Sleeping in his bassinet in my room also.
He goes to bed sometime in between 10:30&11:30 nightly and wakes around 6am but I feed him and then he goes right back to sleep until 8ish.
For naps I rock him in his glider in his room with a fan on and his sound machine then lay him down and swaddle him and he will typically sleep anywhere from 1-2 1/2 hours.

Diet
Still exclusively nursing every 3 hours or so.

Milestones
Scooting while on his back on the living room floor.
Grabbing toes
Putting toys to his mouth.
Giggled for the first time while being tickled.
Definitely found your voice and like to have conversations with us.
Sleeping through the night.

Likes
Sucking on his own hands, playing with his own toes, sleeping, pulling hair, pulling toys up to his mouth, playing on his play mat on the ground. He wants to sit up so bad, he tries and tries and sometimes gets upset and frustrated when he can't.

Dislikes
When he's tired and other than that he is seriously so chill - the best baby ever!

Nicknames
Bud
Bubba
Brother
Pooper
Monkey boy

Still spits up a couple times a day... Sometimes it's once a day, sometimes its none, and sometimes it could be multiple times but its not bad and not consistent. The most drooly boy ever! Gotta start putting bibs on him so his clothes stay dry.

First trip to the Akron Zoo. Took him to a couple festivals. Started taking baths without using the sling and loved it. Soooo close to rolling from back to his stomach but not quite yet.

Puddle Jumping {The Summer Chronicles}

Saying Hanley hates bugs is an understatement...she literally screams like she was just set on fire when one gets close to her... Since its been raining for the past too many weeks to count, she is always asking to go jump in muddy puddles (thanks Peppa Pig,oiiinnnkkk!). So we put on our rain boots and headed out the door..

After finding the smallest puddles known to man (I guess we waited too long) she jumped for awhile then spotted the huge dirt pile that is now the corner of our front yard... ...The gas company has been tearing up all the sidewalks and part of our yards down my street to replace all the gas lines so the corner of my yard is now a big dirt pile...

She was on the hunt for worms, which shocked me to the core, so we started digging. Much to my dismay we found one (that she later named Cossa) and I thought for sure she would scream once I picked it up with a stick but sure enough she grabbed it with her fingers. She was insistent on bringing it to the house to show her daddy and in the process dropped it and ripped it a few times lol

So back to the front yard dirt pile to search for a new worm... The second one we found was bigger and juicier and she named it Foosa. She proceeded to give it numerous baths in the puddles and made it a nice home when it was time to go inside.

Just wild to me that she was totally fine with worms. It was cute and fun to be playing with her one on one like that doing exactly what she wanted to do with no pressure or resistance from me.
